BEFORE you consider an Italian Greyhound puppy, please know, this breed is VERY difficult to house train.

.

My basic expectations of new owners are that you:

  • will provide a permanent, stable, loving home for your Boccalupo  Italian Greyhound.

  • will give regular vaccinations, worming, heartworm, and vet check ups.

  • have a fully fenced, ‘puppy-proofed’ and safe yard for your Boccalupo Italian Greyhound to play in.

  • will seek quality vet care whenever necessary and can afford these services.

  • provide appropriate shelter & warm bedding.

  • keep the dog active & happy.

  • keep in touch (at least once a year) to let me know how your dog is doing.

  • never hesitate to ask my opinion/advice with anything regarding your Boccalupo Italian Greyhound

The two C's ....consistency and confinement!
When we say "confinement', we do NOT mean keeping your dog in a crate 24 /7 . However, while you are training - when you can't watch your dog( even for a second), the dog must be confined. One accident will quickly multiply into several and you will find yourself with pee everywhere!!!

Also know that ALL puppies have a lot of energy and require a lot of work, socialization, and supervision.  More than you probably think!

Do you have an extra $2,000.00-$3,000.00 set aside in case of a leg break or will you buy pet insurance?
While leg breaks aren't always an issue in the breed - they is still a chance with a breed like the IG with its long slender legs and they think they can fly! You must be prepared for the possibility and be able to deal with it financially.

Choosing a puppy is not an easy decision.  For the greatest success, you should have a puppy whose temperament suits your lifestyle FIRST.  Then other preferences like sex and color are considered.   We take your preferences in mind and we choose the puppy for the home.

There is no "first in line and the last person who places a deposit gets the one that is left.  We carefully consider each home and puppy.  Please feel free to ask us questions about this.

Feel free to contact us about future litters.

In order to help us ensure that we have an adequate number of quality homes for our puppies prior to breeding a litter, we do take deposits for puppies.   These deposits will "get you in line" for a puppy from an upcoming litter.  A deposit is refundable only if we can not offer you a  puppy meeting your pre-specified criteria (sex/color etc) within 9 months of its receipt.  It is non-refundable for all other reasons: if you decide to purchase a puppy elsewhere, decide not to get a dog,  decide on a different breed, etc.

NOTE: We do NOT sell puppies over the internet.  We require you to pick up your puppy so we can meet and get to know each other.

Questionaire

Please let us know what you are looking for in an IG for example; pet, show prospect or performance prospect
During 2021 we have had a huge increase in our puppy requests. We have no litter currently planned until SPRING 2022. Please accept our apology if we don’t get back to you right away. We will keep all of these forms and contact everyone when we know a female is pregnant. We do not accept deposits until a litter is born. Thank you!
